I always thought the future would be bigger and brighter than the past. Did you ever watch Back to the Future II? In year 2015 we're all going to float around on hovering skateboards, darting through town in flying cars and entertained with holographic imagery. The modern mantra of change implies progress. It's a given that tomorrow will be better than today.
But what sane person sees the future without skepticism?
We are beginning a long dark age, and the end is not in sight. It seems the light is only just beginning to fade, when in fact it is already extinguished and our eyes are still adapting. Take a mental picture; in mere moments our dim circumstance will lapse into oblivion. Lord save us from Leviathan!
